GHS Sixth Annual Oscars

The Media Studies Awards Ceremony

The evening was a spectacular and the pieces of work were outstanding, the whole evening was very inspirational and taught me a lot about film production. For me personally the 3 best films that stood out were;

  • Face of Fear- this is was a very powerful film which was outstanding because of all its camera angles and the charecters them self. The gloomy dark colours captured the genre of horror and the soundtrack gave lots of effects, it gave the whole film a bit of mystery. This film was very effective because it showed me how to create a horror film using different skills.
  • A rapper's Ambition-this film was the most impressive because it captured a journey of an upcoming artist. It's narrative background gave it a little bit more quality to it. The use of camera angles gave it a dramatic effect, in particular the reversing bottle shot, which added the genuine and creativity of this film.
  • Silent Pain- this movies was by far the most motivating movie, its words spoke out to the audience, it soundtrack gave it more character and camera angles gave it a story. It was a very inspiring movie and showed different aspects of this critical matter and gave an insight into the issue of rape within marriage. The reason why this film was so good was because it made a connection with the audience by fulfiling its purpose of raising awareness about this certain issue.
Personally for me this night wasn't just about showcasing your skills in media, but it was a night of inspiring and teaching other people that media is puttng in a lot of hard work but it can also be fun. All the films shown at the media awards evening gave me a chance and opportunity to see how to use all the techniques to create a powerful production which will hopefully inspire and later help AS media students. I learnt a lot at that evening and wish to carry this experience throughout my time at Greenford High School.
